So Greg and I had our first visitor this weekend! My dad hopped across the Yellow Sea from Shanghai and stayed with us for three wonderful days. He spent some time winning over the hearts of my kindergartners (they almost wouldn’t let him leave) and we, in turn, had fun trying to impress him in Seoul—not an easy task considering he is so well traveled. Nevertheless, we think we may have succeeded on the last day with a trip to the Noryangjin fish market and a live octopus lunch. I don’t think I can adequately describe how great it was to have my dad here for the weekend, but as always, the pictures will speak for themselves:

When you said “He spent some time winning over the hearts of my kindergartners” i was all like “aww! the love of children is an unmistakable sign of a truly wonderful person!” and then i go and look at the pictures and i see how he “won the over” with petty bribes! why if i had enough candy, i could be a wonderful person too! hehe. Also…how the heck’d you learn to fly and WHY haven’t you shared that knowledge with me?!?
Hi, Did you count all your children after your Dad left?
Did I see a picture of Katie eating with a fork? Surely my eyes were mistaken! The secret of using chopsticks is to put the bowl as close to your mouth as possible as “shovel” the food in. If a leftie like me can learn to use them, anyone can.
Ha ha! That only works when your food doesn’t fight back. Suction cups act as a pretty good defense against being eaten.
Great pictures, especially the market!
