Today was the first time we went to work at Kids On Campus, which looks like it’s a great situation. The school is modern, clean, and very nice looking, and the kids are beyond cute. We’ll each be getting our own class of kindergartners (and our own classroom) starting next Monday, so we’ll have this week to learn names and get up to speed on our teaching responsibilities. The kindergartners will come every day to the same class all year round, while the older students rotate between teachers each afternoon, so we’ll only see them a couple times a week. The teachers and administrators we’ve met have all been great and very willing to help, which is good because we’re going to need it.

I’ve lost all sense of time, but earlier “today” we left Michigan and moved to South Korea. Our trip was largely successful (thanks to our superior travel skills and a bit of luck); we’re both here and alive, and our nearly 300 pounds of luggage found its way over, too!

Our employers finally sent them to us yesterday after several problems with scheduling and name spellings (it’s Haskins, not HaskinGs, thank you very much) . We leave Detroit on Sunday, August, 25th at 2:25pm and arrive in Tokyo approximately 14 hours later. We have a two hour layover in Tokyo and then a 3 hour flight to Seoul (Incheon International Airport). We should reach the Republic of Korea around 10:30pm (local time) in the evening. This means we lose a Monday, but we think it will be worth it.
